

Program overview WRSC&IRSC2017
It is recommended to arrive Sunday the 3rd of September in order to get the boats ready for the competition on Monday. The outline of the program with highlights for each day is presented below.

Day 1: Fleet race
Objective: Get the boats ready in the morning. The race will start closer to noon. The boats in each class race a course together.
Lunch: sandwiches/baguettes at the competition venue
Day 2: Station Keeping
Objective: Evaluate the ability of the robotic sailboats to perform a virtual anchoring task.
Lunch: Sandwiches/baguettes at the competition venue
Dinner: Excursion with dinner served by the Norwegian
Costal Administration. Tour of the Vessel Traffic Service monitoring center and presentation of new technology used for monitoring and rescue operations at sea.
Day 3: Area Scanning
Objective: Measure the ability of the sailboats to perform a navigation path suitable to sample a closed region.
Lunch: Sandwiches/baguettes at the competition venue
The public is invited in the afternoon to see the final area scanning attempts and talk to the competing teams. Kongsberg Maritime and the Norwegian Defence Reasearch Establishment will demonstrate the USV mine-sweeper called “Odin” and the AUV “Hugin”.
Dinner: Barbeque at the competition venue.
Day 4: Anti-Collision
Objective: Evaluate the ability of a sailing boat to detect and deviate from an unexpected obstacle appearing in its path.
Lunch: sandwiches/baguettes at the competition venue
Dinner: Banquet dinner with awards to the best teams
